Man dead after hunting accident

SIDMAN – Police said a middle-aged Cambria County man died after he was shot Saturday in a hunting accident on the 400 block of Seesetown Road in Adams Township.

Cambria County Coroner Dennis Kwiatkowski confirmed the death, but few details were available late Saturday. The coroner said his office and the Pennsylvania Game Commission were interviewing nine members of a hunting party about the death.

Kwiatkowski said an autopsy would be performed today.

Cambria County 911 officials said an emergency call came in about 3:30 p.m. for a hunting-related accident. A medical helicopter was called in to assist, but was canceled when the coroner’s office was called just after 4 p.m.
