Blair prison employee faces drug charges
HOLLIDAYSBURG – A Blair County Prison employee was arrested Sunday afternoon when he arrived for his shift, when prison officials confiscated a bag of drugs and other contraband that he was carrying, according to a news release from state police at Hollidaysburg.
Fred Zigler, 27, of Hollidaysburg, was charged with felony possession of contraband, felony possession with intent to deliver and possession of drugs and paraphernalia.
Contents of the bag included 24 20-mg Oxycodone tablets, five Acetaminophen and Oxycodone tablets and a 30-mg Oxycontin tablet.
Zigler was taken to the state police barracks, then back to the Central Booking Center at the prison.
Bail had not been set as of late Sunday.
A spokesman for the prison declined to say what position Zigler holds.
