Valley View bidders get more time
Potential buyers for Valley View Home have until Friday to submit final bids to the Chicago real estate firm handling the proposed sale for Blair County.
Final bids were to be submitted on Monday, but arrangements were made to give bidders more time to review information the county supplied.
One of the bidders raised a question about the home’s behavioral health care unit, and a response was prepared, Commissioner Diane Meling said Monday.
The response, she said, was distributed to all five finalists in the bidding process.
“We needed to give everyone the same opportunity,” Meling said.
Commissioners began exploring the idea of selling the 240-bed nursing home last fall, when they elected to use the Chicago real estate firm of Marcus & Millichap to assist in the potential sale.
Commissioners, in February, named five finalists from a group of nine entities that offered negotiable bids for the nursing home property.
The bids were submitted by: TL Management LLC, Brooklyn, N.Y., $16.1 million, Reliant Senior Care Management Inc, Philadelphia, $14.2 million; Altitude Health Services Inc., Evanston, Ill., $14.2 million; Nationwide HC Services LLC, Brick, N.J., $13.5 million and Complete HC Resources, Dresher, Pa., $12.55 million.
