Arena unveils partnership

Managers of 1st Summit Arena @ Cambria County War Memorial have announced a partnership with Coney Island.

Beginning Sept. 27, Coney Island will begin operating a concession stand at the arena during major ticketed events.

Guests will be able to enjoy Coney Island favorites, like their famous Sundowners, hot dogs, signature chili sauce, hamburgers and a cold chocolate milk to wash it down.

The stand will be located behind section 20 in the arena concourse.

Walmart hosts wellness event

Walmart will host Walmart Wellness Day on Saturday, where customers can get free health services and resources, including information on better heart health.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Walmart stores with pharmacies in Pennsylvania.

In addition to heart health information, customers who attend the event also can expect free health screenings, low-cost flu shots and immunizations, the opportunity to speak with a local pharmacist and wellness demonstrations.

Great Clips donating to school

Great Clips Inc., located at 2722 Plank Road, is donating $1,000 to Penn-Lincoln Elementary School in Altoona as part of the company’s annual back-to-school fundraising campaign.

This summer, Great Clips pledged to donate $1 in school supplies to schools across the United States and Canada for every download of the Great Clips Online Check-In app from Aug. 1 through Sept. 8. Great Clips’ goal is to donate more than $400,000 to deserving schools nationwide that can be used for school supplies, enrichment programming or renovations and enhancements.
