First Commonwealth Financial income increases

First Commonwealth Financial Corp. announced that second quarter net income was $27.3 million, or 28 cents per share, an increase of 3 cents from the prior quarter.

Total revenue grew $4.7 million, or 5.5 percent from the prior quarter. Noninterest income grew $3 million, or 16.1 percent from the prior quarter.

Net interest income increased $1.6 million, or 2.5 percent from the prior quarter.

Meanwhile, First Commonwealth declared a common stock quarterly dividend of 10 cents per share, which is payable on Aug. 16 to shareholders of record as of Aug. 2.

First Commonwealth Financial Corp. is a financial services company with 133 community banking offices in 22 counties throughout western and central Pennsylvania and throughout Ohio, as well as corporate banking centers in Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Columbus.

Ward to speak at Blair Chamber Breakfast Club

The Blair County Chamber Breakfast Club will meet at 7:45 a.m. Aug. 8 at The Casino at Lakemont Park.

State Sen. Judy Ward, R-Blair, will provide updates on current legislation and will speak from the Senate side on how state government avoided a budget stalemate.
