A brief look at hires, promotions, awards and honors

New hires and promotions

— Kristin Cowger, formerly of Hollidaysburg, has accepted a position with the American Contemporary Ballet Company in Los Angeles.

Cowger, who trained at Allegheny Ballet Company, has been with the Richmond Ballet for the past four years.

— Tom Seasoltz of Altoona has been appointed chief financial officer at Altoona Blair County Develop­ment Corp.

Seasoltz, who joined ABCD Corp. in 2010, previously served as director of corporate finance since 2016.

— James Long has been appointed general manager of the dual-branded Fairfield Inn and TownePlace Suites by Marriott Altoona. Long has worked in the hospitality industry for more than 35 years in varying roles. He has received numerous industry awards, including the Connie Award from Hilton Worldwide, the highest honor given to Hampton Inn-branded hotels. He was also named a Hampton Inn Ambassador, an award given to the top 25 general managers in the Hampton Inn chain.

Awards and honors

— Linda Steele was honored as the 2019 Volunteer of the Year at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center, Roaring Spring.

Steele has 17 years of service volunteering in the Nason Gift Shop and is a member of the Conemaugh Nason Patient Family Advisory Council.
