Kitron expands Pa. presence
WINDBER — Kitron, an international electronics manufacturing services company, started operations Tuesday at its newly acquired site in Windber. The new location complements its existing facility in Johnstown and significantly strengthens Kitron’s presence in the area.
Kitron acquired the Windber facility from API Technologies Inc., adding 115 employees to its U.S. staff.
It opened its Johnstown site in 2010 and has upgraded the facility during the past two years. However, it is now nearing full capacity, and the addition of 100,000 square feet at the Windber facility immediately provides room for further growth, economies of scale and added capabilities for both locations.
