Chamber sets Wild West trip
The Blair County Chamber of Commerce and Heritage Travel have set a trip to the American Wild West.
Highlights of the trip, scheduled for Aug. 23 to Sept. 1, include a sightseeing tour of Denver, Colo., and stops at Rocky Mountain National Park, Mount Rushmore, Badlands National Park, Estes Park and more.
An informational meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Feb. 19 at the Devorris Center for Business Development, 3900 Industrial Park Drive.
Travel information will be presented as well as a question and answer session. There is no cost or obligation to attend the informational meeting. Call the chamber at 943-8151 for more information.
Active shooter workshop set
The Blair County Chamber of Commerce Safety Committee will hold an educational workshop titled, “Active Shooter Preparation and Response” from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Feb. 20 at Altoona Grand Hotel.
The workshop will be led by Robert Winters, protective security adviser, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Pittsburgh District. His presentation is based on the department’s best practices tailored for businesses.
