Fires deemed not suspicious

State police fire marshals concluded no suspicious activity was involved in the fires that consumed the Econo Lodge near the interchange of Route 30 and the turnpike in Breezewood.

A fire broke out about midnight Jan. 18 and another fire the next night destroyed the building, which had housed 13 permanent residents and their pets as well as occasional guests.

Hollidaysburg state police spokesman, Trooper Joseph Joseph B. Dunsmore, said both fires appeared to have originated on the third floor and were electrical in nature.
