Chamber delays breakfast
Due to inclement weather, the Blair County Chamber of Commerce has postponed Business Before Hours scheduled for Friday at Farmers Insurance, 3614 Beale Ave.
The event has been rescheduled for 7:30 to 9 a.m. Dec. 14.
SFU receives grant
Saint Francis University and its Science Outreach Center have received a three-year $370,000 grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Bay Watershed Education and Training.
The funds will support learning experiences using stormwater best management practices as an organizing principle to engage middle school students in the Bedford Area, Chestnut Ridge, Harmony Area and Hollidaysburg Area public schools, all of which are located within the headwaters of the Chesapeake Bay watershed.
Each of these districts contains a core group of teachers who are enthusiastic about the meaningful watershed educational experiences concept as well as have a supportive administration.
Penn Highlands wins awards
Pennsylvania Highlands Community College’s marketing and communications team recently received four NCMPR District 1 Medallion Awards from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations.
The team took home medallions in the following categories: website (silver), novelty advertising (bronze), poster (bronze) and viewbook (bronze).
Since 2015, the marketing and communications team has won 13 NCMPR Medallion and Paragon awards, which recognizes excellence in the marketing, design and public relations field at two-year schools.
