Chamber sets Down on the Farm

The Blair County Chamber of Commerce Farm-City Committee will hold its annual Down on the Farm event from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 4 at Mill Hill Farms, 161 Mill Hill Road, Williamsburg.

Down on the Farm is an event that the entire family can enjoy. An all-you-can-eat pig roast, hay rides, farm tours, pony rides and other activities for the kids are planned. Admission is $10 per person. Children 10 and under are free.

Human resource group to meet

The Human Resource Association of Blair County will meet from 7:45 to 10:30 a.m.

Sept. 12 at Park Hills Country Club.

The program will be presented by attorney Dave Andrews and will cover issues such as sexual harassment, the Americans with Disability Act, the Family Medical Leave Act, religious discrimination and the Fair Labor Standards Act. Andrews will also review recent decisions in employment law from the courts and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and explain the effect of these decisions.

The cost to attend is $30 for nonmembers. There is no cost for HRMA members. A buffet breakfast is included. Register online at www.hrmabc.org.
