Park sets appreciation day
Morrisons Cove Memorial Park will celebrate one year of being debt free with a Customer Appreciation Day on Sunday with free skating from 1 to 4 p.m., and free bowling and free swimming from 1 to 7p.m.
All food and drink items will only be $1. Pulled pork sandwiches, hot dogs, nachos and French fries are among the products to be offered. The first Cove Customer Appreciation Day is sponsored by CBT Bank.
SFU to hold business seminars
The Saint Francis University Small Business Development Center has scheduled two pre-business planning seminars for September.
The free seminar is for people who are interested in opening and operating their own business.
Topics to be discussed are feasibility issues, marketing, recordkeeping, business plans, legal issues, regulations/taxes and financing.
Seminars will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Sept. 6 at the Bedford County Chamber of Commerce, 203 S. Juliana St., Bedford, and from 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 26 at the SBDC, 117 Evergreen Drive, Loretto.

JARI sets Lunch n Learn
JARI will host a Lunch n Learn program from noon to 1:15 p.m. Sept. 6 at JARI Center 160 Jari Drive, Johnstown.
Brooke Contacos, a consultant for HR Consultants Inc., will present “Establishing Compensation Structures.”
Attendees will learn the importance of properly structuring and administering a compensation program that will help attract top talent, retain core employees and encourage longevity.
