UPMC unveils figures

UPMC’s strong financial results for the first six months of 2018 are supporting the increasing demand for UPMC in communities beyond the western Pennsylvania region.

For the six months ended June 30, UPMC’s operating revenues increased to $9.3 billion, and net income reached

$116 million.

Operating income, which is reinvested in programs that support UPMC’s mission of advancing patient care, was $176 million. The second quarter results include a $34 million Affordable Care Act risk adjustment charge related to the prior calendar year.

Littman Jewelers recognized

The Littman Jewelers store in the Galleria Mall was recognized as the top store among Littman Jewelers in selling lifetime care plans and watch protection plans for the first six periods this year.

There are more than 300 Littman Jewelers locations in the United States.

Bank names contest winners

Twelve winners were selected out of more than 450 photographs of local parks and recreation submitted in the 2019 CNB bank wall calendar contest.

The photograph awarded best of show by Jamie Morgan of Frenchville, titled “Elk at Sunrise,” will be featured on the cover and for the month of November.

The other 11 months of the year will feature photographs submitted by Cathy Bechtold of Bigler, Wendy Bechtold of Altoona, Kelly Benson of DuBois, Stephanie Beyer of Port Matilda, Dennis Jones and Tiffany Wagner of Philipsburg, Pam Illig of Duncansville, Scott Kephart of Clearfield, Angel McDonnell of Cherry Tree, Sarah McDowell of Curwensville and Kyle D. Yates of Brookville.
