Chamber sets breakfast club

The Tyrone Area Chamber of Commerce Breakfast Club will meet at 7:30 a.m. July 19 at The Bull Pen Restaurant.

Kathy George will present the latest news and happenings at Fort Dearborn Co. (formerly Core Label).

Event set at Long’s Outpost

Long’s Outpost will host its first Summer Fun Fest from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 21 at its location along Route 164.

Central High School cheerleaders will conduct demonstrations, and Martinsburg and Roaring Spring fire departments will have trucks for the kids to explore.

The event also includes face painting and a game of cornhole. Altoona Curve mascot Al Tuna will appear from noon to 12:30 p.m.

Hot dogs, peanuts, popcorn and Ritchey’s iced tea will be available for a small donation to benefit the fire departments and Central High School cheerleaders.

Community job fair set

The Greater Altoona Community Job Fair will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. July 25 at the Altoona Grand Hotel, 1 Sheraton Drive.

The job fair helps bring employers face-to-face with job seekers. Those seeking employment will have time to meet with several employers, all in the span of just a few hours.

Job seekers are advised to come dressed for success and to bring plenty of resumes.

The event is free for job seekers.
