Restaurant, farm store opens
The Smoky Pig is now open for business at 8495 Woodbury Pike near East Freedom.
Owned by Derrick and Dessie Carpenter, the Smoky Pig is a farm-to-table restaurant and farm store.
The Smoky Pig offers a large menu with sandwiches, soups, salads, Friday night farm-to-table dinners by reservation, monthly basket-weaving classes and a Saturday morning breakfast buffet.
The farm store features local products including goat’s milk soaps and lotions made with milk from dairy goats along with products from other local producers.
Business hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, with the breakfast buffet from 8 to 11 a.m.

DG now open in Duncansville
Dollar General’s newest store at 1146 Old Route 22 in Duncansville is now open.
