Additional information: BT1DF was started in 2016 by Dr. Jill Blescia and Susan Pohl. We started this nonprofit to help find a cure for Type 1 diabetes because we both have daughters living with this disease. To date, we have donated $54,000.00 to Joslin Diabetes Center in Boston, Mass., designated specifically for T1D cure-based research. Additionally, in 2018, we awarded a $500 scholarship to a local child to attend the American Diabetes Association’s Camp Courage.
