What is your business day like?

Greet customers with a friendly name to name basis. Monitor the business and financial performance. Provide financial control, especially on costs, oversee staff and to report to board of directors on aspects of the operations of the credit union. Manage bank reconciliations. Reviewing and approving loans, produce specific periodic accounts and financial reports of the credit union to the board of directors. Act as teller as required. Undertake such other reasonable and lawful duties as may be directed from time to time by the board of directors. Most important is to make my customers happy with their financial institution.

What is the best business advice you have received?

If you are persistent, you will get it. If you are consistent, you will keep it.

What is the most important thing you’ve learned on the job?

Always deliver more than expected. Customer service is always number one.

What does the future hold?

As of June 11, our field of membership has changed and we are open to all of Blair County. If you live, work, worship, attend school or have a business and/or other legal entities in Blair County, you can join A.B. Federal Credit Union. I would like to grow with more members, loans and deposits and eventually open up a branch office and hire more staffing personnel. My goal is to be equal to or as large as other credit unions in the area. Right now, we are considered one of the smallest credit unions in the area and my goal is to change that. We might be small in size, but we are big in heart. We treat our customers with the utmost respect, just like they are family. We are proud to be a part of the Blair County community, and I want to strive to make a difference in their lives.

What have you read lately that has influenced your business life?

When you are committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results.
