Leadership Blair County graduates 21 in new class
Graduation ceremonies were held June 7 at Park Hills Golf Club for the Leadership Blair County Class of 2017.
This year’s 21 members bring the total number of people who have completed the program, sponsored by the Blair County Chamber of Commerce, to 571. This is the 24th annual class.
The program is designed to develop and enhance community leadership by preparing individuals from diverse backgrounds to assume more active roles in addressing communities’ needs.
Each class selects a community service project as part of the program.
The Leadership Blair County Class of 2018’s project is for Evolution Expressions, a nonprofit social service that treats children and youths who have experienced trauma in their lives.
The professional staff creates and facilitates art, dance and music therapy sessions to assist these children as they heal and overcome difficulties.
This year’s class members include:

Logan Blvd. Community service activities: Bedford County United Way Day of Caring, Bedford Relay For Life, Lioness Club of Bedford County supporter, Bedford County Humane Society supporter, Sheetz for Kids supporter.

Position: Attorney. Community service activities: WISE Women of Blair County board, Penn-Mont Academy board.
– Erin Bush of Altoona.
Position: Human resources specialist, Department of Veterans Affairs, VanZandt VA Medical Center, 2907 Pleasant Valley Blvd. Community service activities: St. Rose of Lima member, McAuliffe Heights member, Penn State THON donor.
– Alexandra Castrechini of Hollidaysburg.
Position: Project engineer, P. Joseph Lehman Inc. Consulting Engineers, Old Farm Office Centre, Hollidaysburg. Community service activities: CCD substitute teacher, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.
– Taylor Clark of Hollidaysburg.
Position: Act 360 counselor, Evolution Counseling Services, LLC, 1331 12th Ave., Suite 300. Community service activities: Evolution Expressions, mission trips to Guyana, South America and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Position: Safety specialist, Blair Companies, 5107 Kissell Ave. Community service activities: Lake Glendale Sailing Camp, Blair Cares.
– Danielle Donivan of Hopewell.
Position: Attorney, Evey Black Attorneys, 401 Allegheny St., Hollidaysburg. Community service activities: Sigma Kappa, So Others Might Eat.
Jessica Dunlap of Hollidaysburg.
Position: Audit partner, Catanese Group, 307 State St., Johnstown. Community service activities: SOAR mentor program, Altoona Area Youth Ice Hockey, PICPA Central Chapter, PICPA State Board.
Elizabeth Ebling of Altoona.
Position: Church planter in residence, Overflow Church, 127 Fifth Ave. Community service activities: Backyard Ministries, Kids Club, Mobile Soup Kitchen.
Eric Horell of Altoona.
Position: Director of Alumni Engagement, Saint Francis University, 117 Evergreen Drive, Loretto. Professional interests: Education administration, non-profit work.
Amanda Johnston of Altoona.
Position: Consultant, Retirement Plan Solutions, Tipton. Community service activities: Helping the community when needed.
