Benjamin B. Gordon has been promoted to branch manager of Hillis-Carnes Engineering Associates in State College.

Gordon, who joined the firm in 2017 as a senior geotechnical engineer, has more than 19 years of industry experience and holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in civil engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

John Dokes, global chief marketing officer of AccuWeather and general manager of the AccuWeather Network, has been selected for Savoy magazine’s annual list of the Most Influential Blacks in Corporate America 2018.

The “Savoy Top 100” is a list of African American achievers, influencers and executives facilitating global change through their leadership.

Allan G. Hancock of the Allan Hancock Agency Inc. achieved the status of Million Dollar Round Table, Qualifying and Life Member for 46 consecutive years. Membership in Million Dollar Round Table places him among the top 6 percent of all financial service agents worldwide.

Helen Pauline Schmitt, chief clerk for Blair County and a member of the Altoona Sunrise Rotary, recently completed the Rotary Leadership Institute of 2018.

This leadership and development program strengthens education, collaboration and the exchange of ideas among members and future leaders in Rotary Club that service communities.

Monet A. Bottenfield of Good & Associates Inc., doing business as John Yingling Insurance Agency, Claysburg, has earned the On Your Side Basic Farm Certification designation from Nationwide, the No. 1 farm insurer in the U.S.

The designation is intended to help farmers and ranchers recognize agents who have made a commitment to understanding the complex risks faced by the agriculture industry.
