Central Pa. Walmart stores set free wellness day

Central Pennsylvania Walmart stores will be hosting the second Walmart Wellness Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.

This free health screening event provides people in the community an opportunity to learn valuable health information, including: blood glucose, blood pressure, body mass index and low-cost immunizations.

Since its first Walmart Wellness Day event, the company has provided more than 2 million free screenings to people across the country, helping countless customers uncover existing health problems.

F.N.B. Corp. announces quarterly cash dividend

The board of F.N.B. Corp. declared a quarterly cash dividend of $18.13 per share on F.N.B. Corp.’s noncumulative perpetual preferred stock, Series E.

The dividend is payable on May 15 to shareholders of record as of the close of business on April 30.

The company has total assets of $31 billion and more than 400 banking offices throughout Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, West Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

Young Insurance Agency recognized for sixth year

Young Insurance Agency, Altoona, has been named a member of Mutual Benefit Group’s Inner Circle for the sixth year.

Young is one of just 19 independent insurance agencies that qualified for the honor based on 2017 business results.

Each year, Mutual Benefit Group presents its Inner Circle award to those agents who provide superior customer satisfaction while establishing a consistent record of profitable growth.

Local contractor wins national award from supplier

Solarshield Home Improvement of Altoona was honored with the Shining Star award by its metal roofing supplier, Kassel & Irons, for its performance in 2017.

This award is given to only a few roofing contractors across North America that exemplify superior customer service and quality resulting in high volume sales. Danny Green accepted the award on behalf of the company at Kassel & Irons’ annual dealer meeting in Piqua, Ohio.

Donations made to multiple Johnstown area organizations

1st Summit Bank, The War Memorial Authority and SMG recently made several donations to area organizations that partner with or utilize the 1st Summit Arena @ Cambria County War Memorial Arena.

The authority donated $7,000 to the War Memorial Veterans Committee. 1st Summit Bank and SMG donated another $3,500, some of which was raised during the UPMC Health Plan Pen’s Alumni Classic.

1st Summit Bank donated $1,000 seed money to local youth hockey/skating organizations. The War Memorial Authority and SMG also donated $2,500.

The third donation was made through the concession program at the arena. For the past two years, the War Memorial Authority and SMG donated a portion of concession sales to local nonprofit organizations. In the 2017-18 season, the total donation to these organizations was $26,031.
