Legislative breakfast set

The Blair County Chamber of Commerce Committee of Non-Profit Businesses will host a legislative breakfast from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. April 27 at the Altoona Grand Hotel.

The event will provide an opportunity to meet candidates vying for seats in May’s primary. The candidates will discuss their positions on issues such as tax exempt status for nonprofits and charitable deductions for those who support nonprofits.

Pig breeders workshops set

Black Valley Farm of Everett will host a two-day event, April 20 and 21, at the Bedford County Fairgrounds.

Drawing attendance from 13 states and two nations, Kunekune pig breeders will congregate for educational workshops on April 20. A demonstration on carcass merit and other prevailing industry topics lead by professor Steven Moeller of Missouri State will begin at 1 p.m.

The Eastern Annual Sanctioned Show and Sale/EASSS will begin at 9 a.m.

April 21 as the first qualifying show on the American Kunekune Pig Registry’s International Circuit.

JARI sets Lunch n Learn

JARI will hold a Lunch n Learn program from noon to 1:15 p.m. April 26 at JARI Center, 160 Jari Drive.

Angela Gorzelsky, Johnstown Credit Bureau Inc., will present “You and Your Credit Score.”Attendees will learn what credit is and why acredit is score is important.

DRS Laurel sets hiring event

DRS Laurel Technologies, a business unit of Leonardo DRS, will hold a hiring event from 2 to 6 p.m. Monday at PA CareerLink, 445 Schoolhouse Road, Johnstown.

The company is looking to fill more than 30 permanent and temporary production-related positions.

Those attending should have a current resume and come prepared to interview.
