Dr. Kennita Burns-Johnson and Dr. Stephen Schmidt have joined the Breast Cancer & Women’s Health Institute, a service of Tyrone Regional Health Network, to provide breast cancer surgery and general surgery services.

Burns-Johnson will serve as medical director of the BCWHI. She is a native of the Philadelphia area and comes to TRHN from Penn Highlands Healthcare in Clearfield.

Schmidt, who has been a member of the Tyrone Hospital medical staff for more than 30 years, has been involved in the care of breast cancer patients throughout Blair County and the surrounding areas for the past 35 years and is proficient in current diagnostic methods and treatments.

Jennifer Brooks, of Clarence, has been promoted to director of nursing at Centre Crest in Bellefonte.

Brooks started with Centre Crest in 2001 as a certified nursing assistant while attending school to become a licensed practical nurse.

Since May 2017, she has served as assistant director of nursing, overseeing quality, infection control and wounds.

Dr. Nishma Saini, a board-certified psychiatrist, has joined Conemaugh Physician Group, Behavioral Medicine.

Saini will be the attending physician for inpatient adult psychiatric care at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.

Nancy H. Baker, of Altoona, has joined Holliday Real Estate LLC in Hollidaysburg as its new marketing and sales associate.

Baker, who was previously employed as an assessor/negotiator for Blair County, is a graduate of Ithaca College, Ithaca, New York, has a Pennsylvania real estate license and is a certified Pennsylvania evaluator.


Josh Gallagher, the Cresson native who reached the final four on NBC’s “The Voice,” has been named an official spokesperson for Johnstown’s Vision2025.

Gallagher will help promote the efforts of the volunteer-based Vision2025 and assist in much needed recognition for the volunteers, capture teams and the projects that they have completed in the community.
