New hires and promotions
Dr. Danny Forsythe, an anesthesiologist, has joined the medical staff of J.C. Blair Mem-orial Hospital in Huntingdon.
Forsythe will share the responsibility of offering 24-hour anesthesia service at J.C. Blair with Dr. Atif Farag and five certified nurse anesthetists, providing necessary pain control for obstetric patients, preparing patients for surgery, supporting life functions during surgery and supervising care after surgery and discharge from the recovery unit.
Troy Campbell has been named president/CEO; Leon R. Zook, chairman of the board of trustees; and Justin J. Blackburn, executive vice president/COO of Altoona First Savings Bank.
Campbell, an Altoona native, has a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Penn State University and a professional Masters of Banking from Louisiana State University.
Zook spent his entire 42-year career with Altoona First, retiring in 2003 as president/CEO.
Blackburn, a Bedford native, has a liberal arts degree in mathematics and a minor in economics from University of Pittsburgh.
Awards and honors
Lyn Garling, of Centre County, has been named a 2018 recipient of the PASAbilities Award by the Pennsylvania Association for Sustain-able Agriculture. The award honors businesses and individuals that make meaningful contributions to sustainable agriculture in the state and beyond.
An educator-farmer, Garling has been an owner and operator of Over the Moon Farm in Centre County, specializing in organic hay, broilers, hogs and turkeys for the last 20 years.
John C. Forney, a registered principal of Altoona, was recently named as a member of the 2018 Leaders Council by Raymond James Financial Services. This marks the sixth consecutive year that Forney has qualified for this important recognition.
Forney, who joined Raymond James in 2001, has more than 48 years of experience in the financial services industry.
Robert J. Beck has been named the number-one producing financial advisor in all of the Atlantic coast region for 2017 by Principal Securities Inc. of Des Moines, Iowa.
Beck owns and operates Beck Financial and Wealth Management LLC in Altoona and has been in the financial services business for 34 years.
William Bennett, Ashley Gilliland Diehl and Reed McCormick have been elected to three-year terms on the board of directors of the Wildlife for Everyone Foundation, a nonprofit organization committed to wildlife conservation in Pennsylvania.
Bennett is a senior vice president for First National Bank Wealth Management, Pittsburgh, and serves as Trust Services Group market manager for the Pitts-burgh/Central Mountain region.
Diehl is owner and wedding curator of Gillbrook Farms wedding venue in Warriors Mark and property manager of Moove In Self Storage.
McCormick, of Port Matilda, is an attorney for Stover McGlaughlin Attorneys & Counselors at Law, with offices in State College and Bellefonte.
