Stephen McKnight, president and CEO of the Altoona Blair County Development Corp. has been named to the board of directors of Goodwill of the Southern Alleghenies.

McKnight has more than 25 years of management and economic development experience in both the public and private sectors. Throughout his career, he has worked to identify organizational and community place-based assets, matching them with new market opportunities.

Ali Davis, Becky DePodwin, Justin Pullin and Phil Warren, members of the AccuWeather Enterprise Solutions team, received an Award for an Exceptional Specific Prediction from the American Meteorological Society at the group’s 98th annual meeting.

The presentation marked the first time the Award for an Exceptional Specific Prediction has been given to a commercial weather service.

Course completions and certifications

Dr. Lawrence Levinson of Pinecroft recently was approved by the Depart­ment of Health to certify eligible patients for the use of medical marijuana.

Levinson practiced internal medicine for 32 years and received board certification in Addiction Medicine in 2012. He obtained the educational and testing requirements through the Lambert Center for the Study of Medical Cannabis and Hemp, Jefferson Medical School.
