New hires and promotions

Marc Lemberg has joined the AccuWeather leadership team as General Counsel and Chief Legal Officer.

Lemberg, former vice president and associate general counsel and vice president, Strategy and Mergers and Acquisitions, for Tyco International, will advise the executive team on all legal matters affecting the company.

Kate Labriola of Altoona has been named by Career Services at Saint Francis University as assistant director of employer relations/internships.

In her new position, Labriola will create and establish employer relations and internships for students. Through partnerships both locally and outside the area, and through alumni connections, students will have more opportunities and a variety of options for internships.

Dr. Ronald Pellegrini, a board certified, fellowship-trained cardiothoracic surgeon, has joined Conemaugh Physician Group — Cardiothoracic Surgery and is now part of the team treating patients at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center.

A graduate of Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, Pellegrini completed his internship and residency at Mercy Hospital of Pittsburgh followed by a fellowship in thoracic surgery at the University Hospital of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

Kurt Fulepp has joined AccuWeather as chief product officer.

Fulepp, who most recently served as vice president and digital general manager of news and business at Time Inc., will be responsible for the vision, strategy, and design for Accu­Weather’s enterprise-wide product portfolio.

Melissa Hallinan has been promoted to controller at PennCrest Bank.

A graduate of Mount Aloysius College and Penn State with a degree in accounting, since 2009, Hallinan has held the position of accounting officer at the bank.

Awards and honors

Dr. Gerald Gronborg of Altoona was recently installed as the new president of the Pennsylvania Podiatric Medical Association.

Gronborg is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and a fellow of the American College of Certified Wound Specialists.


Theresa (Terry) Waple of Osceola Mills recently retired from her position as manager of surgical services at Tyrone Hospital after 28 years of service.

Waple is a graduate of the former Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. After graduating from nursing school, she worked for several years in the operating room at the former Mercy Hospital in Altoona. She also spent a few years working at the former Philipsburg Hospital but devoted the majority of her career to Tyrone Hospital.
