New hires and promotions

Dr. Amy Swindell recently assumed the position of Eastern Region Medical Director for Family Hospice and Palliative Care, Part of UPMC Home Nursing Agency.

Swindell, who has served as lead medical director since 2015, will oversee all hospice team physicians in the region and work closely with the chief medical officer to assure excellence in medical care for patients.

Jeff Hackenberg has been named client relationship manager and Stanley McKee has been named business operations manager for Penn State Extension Area 7, which includes Bedford, Blair, Cambria, Fulton, Huntingdon, Juniata, Mifflin and Somerset counties.

Hackenberg has spent his entire career in sales, serving retail customers, contractors, manufacturers and, most recently, health care professionals and their patients as a pharmaceutical sales representative.

McKee was county extension director in Hunting­don County before serving as district director for Blair, Huntingdon and Fulton counties from 2012-17.

Dr. Kenneth K. Lee, a gynecologist, has joined the Tyrone Regional Health Network Medical Staff.

Lee provides non-surgical and surgical gynecology care to women in all stages of life. Services offered include exams, diagnostics, tests, procedures, reproductive health care and surgery, and there are office hours at the Tyrone Rural Health Center on the TRHN campus at 221 Hospital Drive, Suite 6 in Tyrone.

Danielle D. Horner has joined Barnes Saly & Co., P.C., Certified Public Accountants and Consul­tants as a full-time staff accountant.

Horner will specialize in tax compliance and consulting, payroll services, QuickBooks support, controller services, compilations and reviews and auditing. She will assist a wide range of individual and business clients from the firm’s Johnstown and Somerset offices.

Taylor Hershberger, a physician assistant, has joined the team at Conemaugh Physician Group Pain Management and is now seeing patients at Conemaugh East Hills.

Hersh­berger is a graduate of Saint Francis University where, in addition to her Bachelor of Science in Health Science, she also received her Master of Physician Assistant Science.

Course completions and certifications

Robert J. Beck, president of Beck Financial and Wealth Management, LLC in Altoona has earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary designation. This designation is attained by financial advisors who have demonstrated expertise in the development, selection, implementation and ongoing monitoring of investments for both individuals and corporate 401k and other retirement plans.
