Workshop set for women
New Leaf Initiative will hold a free workshop for women and their allies, designed to encourage and promote women leadership in all public spheres at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the New Leaf office on the third floor of the State College Municipal Building,

“WomenRUN — Stepping into Power” will be presented by Elle Morgan, professor of civic engagement and public speaking at Penn State and also director of The Elements of New Life Scripts, a personal development group.

Health fair set for women
Women of all ages are invited to attend the 2017 UPMC Altoona Health and Wellness Fair from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday at UPMC Altoona Station Medical Center.
“The annual Women’s Health and Wellness event covers all aspects of wellness for women, who tend to put their needs behind everyone else’s in the family,” said Dana Shade, community education coordinator, UPMC Altoona, in a statement. “We will have health professionals offering pointers for better physical and mental wellness, as well as alternative health practices, such as Reiki and yoga.”
UPMC Altoona departments will have information available on numerous topics.
New this year is an over-sized, inflated colon that allows participants to walk through and learn about this organ and how to keep it healthy.
