Chamber sets safety tour
The Blair County Chamber of Commerce Safety Committee will hold a safety tour from 9 to 11 a.m. April 21 at Albemarle, 2 Adams Ave., Tyrone.
Albemarle Corp. is a global specialty chemicals company with leading positions in lithium, bromine, refining catalysts and applied surface treatments.
The cost to attend is $20 for chamber members and $30 for nonmembers. Cost includes a light breakfast. No open toe or high heel shoes are permitted. Long pants are required. Safety equipment will be provided.

Meeting to focus on managers
PMI Keystone Chapter Mid-State Branch meeting will feature Phil Weinzimer, president of Strategere Consulting and author of “The Strategic CIO: Changing the Dynamics of the Business Enterprise” at 6 p.m. April 13 at Penn State University Building 120 USB II.
Weinzimer will speak about how project managers must improve their strategic business skills.

CBT Bank plans branch office
CBT Bank has filed applications with the Pennsylvania Department of Banking and Securities and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. to open a branch office at 3305 Sixth Ave.
CBT has a loan production office at that location but wants to convert it into a full branch office, said President/CEO Mike Bibak.
Bibak said it is likely to be August or September until the branch office opens.
He said the opening will lead to the creation of three full-time and two part-time jobs. CBT Bank, a wholly owned subsidiary of CBT Financial Corp., operates 12 community offices throughout Blair, Centre, Clearfield and Huntingdon counties.
