What products or services does your company provide?
I write books called “Short Stories by Our Local Heroes,” stories of young men and women who served in the Armed Forces for the United States of America. In the store, we sell items and do consignments. We purchased the Moose building in Tyrone to make a military club/museum in the future.
Who are your customers?
Veterans and others from throughout the area.
What is your business day like?
A 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. day where veterans give us information for our books and we wait on customers who come into the store.
What is the best business advice you have received?
Keep trying and don’t give up.
What is the most important thing you’ve learned on the job?
We’ve learned how to help people and what they can do for us.
What does the future hold?
We are working on the publication of a third book, and plan to have at least 12 books before we are finished. We hope to keep the business going for the community. I also have a garage, Charlie’s Auto Repair, at 5547 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd.
