Mount Aloysius recognized for community service

Mount Aloysius College has been notified that the 15,353 hours of community service performed during the 2014-2015 academic year has once again earned recognition on the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll.

The recognition reflects service projects by Mount Aloysius students, faculty and staff.

The President’s Community Service Honor Roll is the highest federal recognition a college or university can receive for its commitment to volunteering, service-learning and civic engagement.

First National Bank adds Touch ID to banking app

First National Bank of Pennsylvania, the largest subsidiary of F.N.B. Corp., has added Touch ID fingerprint-based authentication to its FNB Direct mobile banking app.

Touch ID allows customers using supported mobile devices to log in to FNB Direct with just the touch of a finger.

With Touch ID, customers will have streamlined, secure access to the majority of their mobile banking functions, including monitoring account balances and activity, transferring funds, making mobile deposits or setting customized alerts. Customers will be required to input their mobile banking password to use certain features that transfer money outside of their FNB accounts, such as bill pay and Popmoney person-to-person payments.

Juniata unanimously votes

to renew president’s contract

The Juniata College board of trustees voted unanimously to renew the contract of President James A. Troha through 2021.

Troha’s extension was recently announced at a trustees meeting by Tim Statton, chairman of the college’s board of trustees and a 1972 graduate of Juniata.

“Jim Troha’s contract renewal is a clear message of how much the board of trustees respect his leadership and vision of Juniata’s future,” said Statton in a statement. “We have been impressed at how quickly Jim has become a member of the Huntingdon community and moved forward with an ambitious strategic plan that will ensure the college’s future.”
