Michele Sassano, Daniel Lersch

Michele Sassano and Daniel Lersch were united in marriage at 1:30 p.m. May 14 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Altoona.

The bride is the daughter of Ronald and Joanne Sassano of Altoona.

The bridegroom is the son of William Jr. and Jennifer Lersch of Altoona.

Father Brian Saylor performed the double-ring ceremony.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

Kristin Zimmerman was the matron of honor.

Bridesmaids were Kaitlyn Lersch, sister of the groom, Elizabeth Furrer, Jillian Ambrose, Brittany Horell and Shana Nitzberg.

Michael Moser served as best man.

Ushers were Michael Sassano, brother of the bride, Eric Turcovski, Daniel Hutton, Chris Robinson and Patrick Hartz.

The reception was held at the United Veterans Association Club, Altoona.

The rehearsal dinner was held at the Cesare Battisti, Altoona.

The couple live in Bloomington, Ind.

Mrs. Lersch is a 2007 graduate of Altoona Area High School; a 2011 graduate of Penn State University, University Park, with a bachelor of science degree in biobehavioral health; and a 2015 graduate of Indiana University, Bloomington, with a master of science degree in higher education and student affairs.

She is assistant director of admissions and student services in the School of Environmental and Public Affairs at Indiana University, Bloomington.

Mr. Lersch is a 2007 graduate of Altoona Area High School; a 2011 graduate of Penn State University, University Park, with a bachelor of science degree in crime, law and justice and a bachelor of arts degree in political science; and a 2014 graduate of The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, with a master of arts degree in higher education and student affairs.

He is associate director of advising and coordinator of the Indiana University Peer Coach Program at Indiana University, Bloomington.
