Rebecca Stark, Alexander Askey

Rebecca L. Stark and Alexander R. Askey were united in marriage at 11:30 a.m. April 5 at The Mercersburg Inn, Mercersburg.

The bride is the daughter of Richard Stark of Houston and Susan Stark of Pittsburgh.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond C. Askey of Altoona.

The Rev. Sean Hughes performed the double-ring ceremony.

Matt Salzer was the organist.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

The maid of honor was Alex Cunningham.

The matron of honor was Missi Smith.

Bridesmaids were Erica Lee, sister of the groom, and Caroline Spalding.

Adam Meyers served as the best man.

Ushers were Jonathan Kirsch; Travis Lee, brother-in-law of the groom; and Alex Stark, brother of the bride.

A wedding brunch was held at The Mercersburg Inn, following the ceremony, with music provided by Matt Salzer.

The couple took a wedding trip to St. Michaels Island, St. Michaels, Md.

They reside in Fredericksburg, Va.

Mrs. Askey is a 2006 graduate of North Hills High School, Pittsburgh; a 2010 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in urban planning; and a 2012 graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Va., with a master’s degree in transportation planning.

She is a transportation planner for Michael Baker International, Richmond.

Mr. Askey is a 2007 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School, Altoona; a 2011 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a bachelor’s degree in administration of justice; and a 2012 graduate of the Northern Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy, Ashburn, Va.

He is a police officer for the Alexandria (Va.) Police Department.
