AAHS Alumni Association awards scholarships

The Altoona Area High School Alumni Association awarded $10,000 in scholarships to AAHS students from the class of 2018.

The scholarship program began in 1994 and since that time the AAHS Alumni Association has awarded 185 scholarships totaling $150,450.

Students and parents were honored at a dinner held at the Educator’s Inn in the Greater Altoona Career and Technology Center. Each student received a $1,000 scholarship award, a one-year AAHS Alumni Association membership and an AAHS Alumni sweatshirt.

The AAHS Alumni Association’s mission is to maintain and enhance the prestige and tradition of the Altoona Area High School. The 15-member council meets monthly, August to April.
