Petco Foundation grants $65K to CPHS
Money will extend efforts to save animal lives in Blair County
The Central Pennsylvania Humane Society has been awarded a $65,000 grant from the Petco Foundation, which will assist in covering the cost of medical treatment to animals awaiting their forever home.
The Petco Foundation investment will help to provide lifesaving care for pets awaiting adoptions.
Funds will be used for routine vaccinations required to keep CPHS animals healthy, as well as care for animals with specialized medical needs.
Part of the Petco Foundation investment also will support the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society’s annual Paws in the Park event on June 15 and 16 as well as the Fur Ball on Nov. 2.
In previous years, these two events raised more than $70,000 in proceeds from community supporters.
“We are thrilled to receive this grant and we can’t thank the Petco Foundation enough for the positive effects it will have on our shelter and community,” said CPHS President Paul Lang. “We appreciate the support they have extended to us and our furry friends.”
The Central Pennsylvania Humane Society is a nonprofit organization whose vision is to meet 100 percent of the needs of the animals in Blair County through communication, compassion and conviction.
