Garden club to tour NatureWorks Park
The Blair Garden Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday
at the NatureWorks Park, 10 Bedford St., Hollidaysburg.
Club members will enjoy a guided tour of Blair County’s first environmental-specific outdoor education and recreation area, the latest community project of the Blair County Conservation District.
The park includes a walkway with instructional signage, a rain garden, a pollination station and a wetlands area.
The public is invited to participate in this tour.
Schools of Nursing to hold picnic
Nurses from Altoona and Mercy Hospitals’ Schools of Nursing will celebrate their annual picnic at 1 p.m. Sept. 15 at American Legion Park Office Building.

Swinging Squares to hold ‘Fun Nights’
Swinging Squares Square and Round Dance Club will meet from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursday at Jaggard United Methodist Church, 1801 Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona.
Dances are on Thursday nights.
Club caller is Howard Williamson, and the club cuer is Donna Williamson.
It is always free to watch. Class member fee is $4. Nonmember fee is $4.50.
The club will have free “Fun Nights” on Sept. 5, 12, 19 and 26. Everyone is welcome.
Classes will begin in October.

Chimrocks to hold dance Sept. 15
HOLLIDAYSBURG — The Chimrock Square & Round Dance Club holds dances at the Masonic Hall, 1008 Edgar St. There will be no dance on Sept. 1.
The next dance will be Sept. 15. It will be Fun Night with dancers wearing team jerseys.

Cowboy and Cowgirl Night — Oct. 20.
Patriotic salute to U.S. veterans — Nov. 3.

The cost is $5 to dance. It is free to observe.
