Penn State Altoona offers summer programs for kids

Penn State Altoona has week-long fun and educational programs for kids entering kindergarten through ninth grade.

Pick from an array of camps about science, technology, engineering, art, history and more. Kids’ College will bring children’s imaginations to life and their thinking skills to the forefront.

Children entering kindergarten through first grade can explore the Antarctic and learn about polar bears and penguins during Frozen Land Explorers camp. They can explore the beauties and wonders of the seasons while creating crafts, delicious snacks and playing games during Traveling through the Seasons camp or create cave icicles, oobleck, lava lamps and more during You Be the Scientist camp.

New this year is Slime Camp for grades second through sixth.

Campers will investigate the properties of slime while making magnetic, edible and erupting slime.

For children who love to read and explore faraway places, Reading Rocks or Madeline’s Adventures in Paris are perfect camps.

Campers entering second through fourth grades will create art projects, edible snacks and STEM activities based on some favorite children’s books.

Those in fourth through ninth grade will discover how things work, build problem solving skills, improve critical thinking skills and engage in real world problems at Fun with S.T.E.A.M, Lion Learning Science Lab, Simple to Complex Machines, 21st Century Digital World, Engineer-ing the Rails or System Controls Robotics camps.
