Glendale sets annual Indoor Contest

The Glendale High School Twirlers and Jazz Band will host the annual Glendale Indoor Contest on March 16 at the high school.

At 10 a.m. the contest begins in the high school auditorium where jazz bands from Bald Eagle Area, Westmont-Hilltop, and Glendale will be adjudicated by members of the National Judges Association.

All three groups will travel to the Atlantic Coast Championships Jazz Band Finals in Wildwood, N.J., in May.

Following the jazz band contest, dozens of twirlers, color guards and dance teams from scholastic and independent groups throughout west-central Pennsylvania will perform in an afternoon contest to be held in the gymnasium.

The jazz band contest begins at 10 a.m. and the indoor contest begins at approximately noon. A full schedule can be found at www.tobxi.com.

The Glendale Twirlers have made it a tradition to give back to the community as part of their event. This year, $1 of each ticket purchase will be donated to the Glendale School District Education Foundation.

Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for students and tickets will be available at the door.

The Allegheny Mountain Region 11 Championships will be held at Tyrone High School on April 27.

The Tournament Indoor Association Atlantic Coast Championships will be held in Wildwood, N.J., from May 3 to 6, in the Wildwood Convention Center.

Details for all Tournament events can be found at www.njatob.org.
