Chimrocks to hold dance today

HOLLIDAYSBURG — The Chimrock Square & Round Dance Club will hold a dance from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Masonic Hall, 1008 Edgar St.

It will be Cartoon Night.

The cost is $5 to dance. It is free to observe.

The 48th anniversary dance, “The Wearin’ of the Green,” will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. March 17.

NARVRE to meet Wednesday

DUNCANSVILLE — The National Association of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees will hold its monthly meeting at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Prime Sirloin Buffet. Members and non-members are welcome to attend.

NARVRE is the only chartered national organization whose sole purpose is to protect our pension rights.

All retired, veteran and present railroad employees, or widows, of any craft are invited to attend the meeting of NARVRE Unit 173, Altoona.

AFSCME retirees to meet Wednesday

DUNCANSVILLE — Duncansville unit of AFSCME sub-chapter 2806 retirees will meet at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. If school is canceled there will be no meeting.

Association for Blind sets March programs

The Blair/Clearfield Association for the Blind offers weekly opportunities for educational programs and socializing. Programs for March have been scheduled.

All programs are at 10 a.m.

Unless otherwise stated, programs are held at 300 Fifth Ave., Altoona.

Juniata Civics group to meet Tuesday

The Juniata Civics Association will hold it’s monthly meeting on March 5.

The social time begins at 6:30 p.m. followed by the meeting at 7 p.m.

Plans are being made for an indoor yard sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 30. Tables are $10 and can be reserved by calling 943-5641.
