CPHS will hold fundraiser Feb. 23

EAST FREEDOM – The Central Pennsylvania Humane Society (CPHS) will hold a night at the races, electronic horse races, on Feb. 23 at the Freedom Township Fire Hall. Only 100 horses are being sold. All proceeds benefit the animals at the CPHS.

Tickets are $25 per person for a horse and $15 for general admission (without a horse).

If you buy a horse you get to give it a name. Should your horse win in its derby, you win $50. There will be a total of 10 derby races with 10 wining horses.

The 11th derby will be the Crown Derby. This is when the first 10 winners race to see who gets the crown. The owner of that horse will win $100.

General admission tickets do not get to name a horse, but do get to place $2 bets on each race. Both tickets allow you to place $2 bets on all the races throughout the evening. Tickets are limited.

All race tickets include dinner catered by the Villa Capri Restaurant and the Video races. Tickets can be purchased at the CPHS Shelter, Shields Trophy and Sports Shop or the Freedom Twp. Municipal Building. Doors open at 4:45 p.m., dinner from 5 to 6 p.m. with races directly after. ID will be required.

The CPHS’s Mission is to prevent animal neglect and cruelty through education and enforcement while providing a safe haven and finding forever homes for those in need. The CPHS is a certified 501(c)3 non-profit.
