Foundation to host ‘Winter Splendor’

The UPMC Altoona Foundation will host the fifth annual Winter Splendor from 6 to 10:30 p.m. Jan. 18 at the Blair County Convention Center.

Funds raised will support nursing scholarships for students pursuing un-dergraduate and graduate level nursing education.

The foundation is establishing the Donald and Nancy Devorris Nursing Scholarship Fund in honor of longtime UPMC Altoona trustees and benefactors, the late Donald Devorris and his wife Nancy.

Dress is business casual.

Dr. George Jabbour and his wife Talar Manayan, and Dr. Jonathan Holtz and his wife Mackensie Ryan are honorary co-chairs.

Live entertainment will be provided by The Moore Brothers.

The program includes a reception, cash bar, dinner, live auction, silent auction and a basket raffle.

Amy Mearkle, director of marketing at DelGrosso’s Amusement Park and Laguna Splash, will be mistress of ceremonies.

The evening will include the UPMC Altoona Health-care Honors awards and a salute to Jerry Murray, current president (until Jan. 14) of UPMC Altoona and UPMC Bedford.
