Allegheny Club distributes $40,000
HOLLIDAYSBURG — The Allegheny Club of Holli-daysburg made a second distribution of $40,000.
The board of governors, officers, as well as members of the club, made the donations.
The Allegheny Club is a Catholic corporation and helps support the five Catholic parishes in our area by donating $5,000 to each. They are: St. Michael Parish, Hollidaysburg; St. Mary Parish, Hollidaysburg; St. Patrick Parish, Newry; St. John Parish, Lakemont; and St. Catherine Parish, Duncansville.
Other donations were also made to the following: Knights of Columbus No. 4245; St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry; St. Leonard Home; Holy Trinity School, Hollidaysburg; Catholic Daughters; St. Patrick School, as well as other donations to area community programs.
Golden Nuggets to hold dinner-dance
The Golden Nuggets Club in Altoona will hold a dinner-dance at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the Bavarian Hall, Altoona.
The cost is $10 per person. Three hours of dancing will be held in the upstairs ballroom after the meal.
The club is accepting new members.
Chimrock Squares to hold dance today
HOLLIDAYSBURG — The Chimrock Square & Round Dance Club will hold a dance from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Masonic Hall, 1008 Edgar St..
The dance will feature Crooners music.
The cost is $5 to dance. It is free to observe.

Altoona High School Class of ’60 to meet
The Altoona High School Class of 1960 invites all class members and their guests to its twice-a-month class luncheon.
The class will meet at noon on the first and third Tuesdays of each month in the Perkins Restaurant meeting room, 3300 Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona.
