Duncansville VFW to change bingo
DUNCANSVILLE — The Duncansville VFW Bingo with the auxiliary has been changed again to 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays, starting in February.
Participants will receive 10 cards for $10, Lucky Number is $1, the Building Jackpot is $2.
All proceeds benefit the auxiliary and the Central Pennsylvania Food Share Program for the VFW’s Veterans Food Bank. The kitchen offers $1 soft or hard tacos. The bingo is open to the public.
Ballroom dance to be held March 24
STATE COLLEGE — A ballroom dance will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. March 24 at Centre Hills Country Club, 153 Country Club Road.
The event will include recorded dance music, hors d’oeuvres and non-alcoholic beverages.
There also will be a cash bar.
Tickets are $20 per person.

Contra Dance set for Friday
STATE COLLEGE — A First Friday Contra Dance and Old Time Country Dance will be held from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Friday at the State College Friends School, 1900 University Drive.
Cindy Harris will call the dances to music by the Contra Rebels.
All dances are taught and easy to learn. No partner needed. The steps are similar to square dancing.
First-time dancers receive a coupon for a free dance.
The Central Pennsylvania Country Dance Association sponsors First Friday Contra Dances from September through May.

White Shadow to perform Feb. 9
PLEASANTVILLE — The Alum Bank Community Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary will present the band White Shadow from 6:30 to 10 p.m. Feb. 9 at the fire hall.
Admission is $5 per person.
The kitchen will open at 5:30 p.m.
It is a smoke- and alcohol-free atmosphere.

DUNCANSVILLE — A meeting of the Pennsylvania State Retirees of Cresson, Altoona and Ebensburg centers will be held at 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Hoss’s Steak and Sea House, Duncansville.
