Bingo to benefit B-A cheerleaders

BELLWOOD — The Bellwood-Antis Cheerleading Association will sponsor its 12th annual Longaberger Basket, Vera Bradley and designer handbag bingo on Jan. 27 in the Bellwood-Antis Middle School gymnasium.

All proceeds will benefit the Bellwood-Antis cheerleaders.

The cheerleaders are asking for the support of local businesses to help aid in this fundraiser. Any donations, products, gift certificates, food, monetary, etc. would be greatly appreciated.

Contributions will help defray the cost of purchasing baskets and bags, as well as the gifts to fill them.

Driving class for seniors is Jan. 19

Seniors for Safe Driving will hold highway safety education programs, certified by PennDOT, for area seniors ages 55 and older.

After successful completion, drivers are eligible for a 5 percent discount on automobile insurance premiums for three years.

Those who have never participated in a senior dri-ving program previously must attend a two-day (four hours each) or one-day eight-hour standard class. To qualify for a one-day refresher program, seniors must have attended a senior driving program in the past.

Ballroom dance to be held Jan. 13

STATE COLLEGE — A ballroom dance will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Jan. 13 at the Centre Hills Country Club, 153 Country Club Road.

Recorded dance music, hors d’oeuvres and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided, along with a cash bar.

Admission is $20 per person. RSVP necessary by Sunday.
