Frontier Patriots to meet Saturday

BEDFORD — The quarterly meeting of the Frontier Patriots Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution will be held at noon Saturday at Hoss’s Steak and Seafood Restaurant, 4308 Business Route 220.

The Frontier Patriots Chapter includes the counties of Blair, Bedford, Clearfield and Huntingdon.

All current Frontier Patriots Chapter members are invited to attend, as well as any male who is interested in joining the Sons of the American Revolution.

Any male who can prove lineal descent from a patriot who served during the Revolutionary War or to an ancestor who gave aid to American Colonists during the Revolution is eligible for membership.

Some purposes and goals of the Sons of the American Revolution organization are patriotic, historical and educational, including the following:

n Preserving the records of Revolutionary War Patriots.

n Marking the locations of the Revolution: its events and its soldiers.

n Celebrating anniversaries of the Revolution.

Chimrock Squares to meet today

The Chimrock Square & Round Dance Club will meet from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Masonic Hall, 1008 Edgar St., Hollidaysburg.

The cost is $5 to dance, and free to observe.

Railway employees to meet Wednesday

DUNCANSVILLE — The National Association of Retired and Veteran Railway Employees will meet at

11 a.m. Wednesday at Prime Sirloin Buffet.

Members and nonmembers are welcome to attend.

NARVRE is the only chartered national organization whose sole purpose is to protect pension rights.

All retired, veteran and present railroad employees (or widows) of any craft are invited to attend the meeting of NARVRE Unit 173, Altoona.
