AASD Adult Education Program offers classes

The AASD Adult Education Program has announced its classes for the fall for High School Equivalency (GED)/HiSET, post-secondary prep and healthcare prep.

All classes are provided free of charge to adults 17 years and older living in Blair, Huntingdon and Fulton counties. To register or for more information, contact the AASD Adult Education Program at 946-8330, or visit the program on the web or Facebook.

High School Equivalency Prep (GED/HiSET) Classes — Monday through Thursday at various sites in the community, morning, afternoon and evening. Managed or Open enrollment options are available to fit the learner’s schedule.

Refresher Math and Reading Classes for Employment, Training and Post-secondary — Monday through Thursday at various sites in the community, morning, afternoon and evening. Managed or Open enrollment options are available to fit the learner’s schedule.

LPN Prep — 5 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday from Oct. 23 to Nov. 20 at the Community Education Center at Stevens School. This course covers science and math topics related to the nursing field and prepares the learner for the LPN Entrance Exam.

One-to-one tutoring or small group tutoring is available for learning basic skills and for ESL learners.

The Adult Education Program is looking for tutors and classroom aids to assist learners. Interested individuals can contact Barbe Daugherty, tutor coordinator, at
