Striking Chords to aid American Cancer Society
Event moves to Jaffa this year
The seventh annual Striking Chords Against Cancer will be held Oct. 19 inside at the Jaffa Shrine Center, Altoona.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
The lineup includes:
6 to 6:25 p.m. — Buzz on 27.
6:25 to 7:15 p.m. — Matt Pletcher and the PDX.
7:15 to 7:40 p.m. — Matt Wagner and Joe Scott from August Wake.
7:40 to 8 p.m. — Speaker Melissa Kruise and balloon release.
8 to 8:50 p.m. — This Albatross.
8:50 to 9:15 p.m. — Dave and Steve.
9:15 to 10:05 p.m. — Agent Smith
10:05 to 10:30 p.m. — Drew Dodson.
10:30 to 11:20 p.m. — The Chrome Hearts.
There will be a Kids Zone from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Food and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase, as well as tear-off tickets, a 50/50 raffle, basket raffle and T-shirts.
Children ages 10 and younger will be admitted for free, and cancer survivors will receive complimentary entry tickets.
Each $10 entry ticket gets the individual a chance to win a backyard barbecue for 50 friends and family, donated by Frederick’s Meats.
The event falls under the mission of Grocers Fight Cancer Day.
