Nason Auxiliary awards scholarships

ROARING SPRING — The Nason Hospital Auxiliary awarded $500 scholarships to two students.

Students from area high schools were invited to submit an application and essay on their reasons for pursuing a healthcare career.

The two selected recipients were Grace Baker, daughter of Brent and Betsy Baker from Central High School, Martinsburg, and Dane Holtz, son of Mike and Kristie Holtz from Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School.

Grace’s and Dane’s submissions were chosen by a panel compiled of Nason Auxiliary members and retired educators.

More than 18 entries from students at seven area school districts were received.

Grace plans to attend Penn State University and Dane plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh.
