21st annual tournament set for July 27 at Park Hills

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Blair County’s 21st annual Sheetz Pepsi Golf Tournament and Dinner will take place on July 27 at Park Hills Golf Course in Altoona.

It will include lunch, drawings, dinner, door prizes and a chance to win a car provided by Stuckey Ford.

Registration and lunch start at 11:30 a.m., and golfing begins at 1 p.m.

All proceeds from the golf tournament and the Leonard S. Fiore/New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co. $1,000 drawing will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Blair County and the families the agency serves.

“This is a special year for us as we celebrate the first summer of the ‘Wheels in Motion’ Bicycle Project which gives Bigs, Littles, families and community partners a way to connect while encouraging healthy habits,” said Gail Clapper, executive director of BBBS.

“The Sheetz Pepsi Golf Tournament supports initiatives like this and also future programming that brings mentoring teams together. BBBS’s influence on youth in our community has outcomes that can last a lifetime.”

“This event would not be possible without the many generous sponsors and supporters,” said Tonya Eckenrode, committee chairwoman.

“Help make a positive change in the lives of children in Blair County and enjoy the last Friday in July with BBBS.”

Teams and individuals can sponsor and register, email info or call the agency at 944-6129 to request registration information to be mailed.
