American Legion hosts picnic for vets

On June 24, members of the American Legion Family of Cambria and Blair Counties hosted a picnic for the veterans at the Hollidayburg Veterans home.

The veterans enjoyed hamburgers and hot dogs, haluski, homemade sides, apple dumplings and homemade cookies.

To spend a day with our veterans is very rewarding, to take a few minutes and hear their stories, share one of yours or just hold someone’s hand.

If you would like to join the American Legion Family, visit www.pa-legion.org.

Area clubs and nonprofits can email articles and photos to community@altoonamirror.com.
