Blair Leadership Youth program holds graduation

The Blair County Chamber of Commerce Leadership Blair County Youth program graduated 20 students representing all Blair County school districts on May 9 at Port Sky Cafe at Penn State Altoona.

The program is open to high school sophomores focusing on servant leadership. The youth program is formatted similar to the Chamber’s adult leadership program. LBCY has been used as a model for leadership youth programs throughout Pennsylvania and the tri-state region.

The curriculum includes an overnight retreat, monthly sessions on community-focused topics and a class project.

The 2018 class includes:

Altoona Area High School — Jessica Drzal, Marcus Osmolinski, Ta’Shay Seward, April Silva, Karlie Thompson.

Bellwood-Antis High School — Samuel Gormont, Thalia Lucio.

Bishop Guilfoyle Catholic High School, Altoona — Olivia Butler, Michael Montecalvo.

CCA Cyber School — Christopher Ritchey.

Central High School, Martinsburg — Austin Bridenbaugh, Brant Kensinger.

Claysburg-Kimmel High School — Jocelyn Shultz.

Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School — Nathan Bettwy, Darrek Harshberger, Ryan Stevenson.

Tyrone Area High School — Logan Johnson, Jacob Price.

Williamsburg High School — Joseph Kunsman, Zoie Litzinger.
